L. Frank Baum Papers
  • At the Special Collections Research Center of the Syracuse University Libraries lies 6 linear feet of materials related to L. Frank Baum. The collection includes materials pertaining to genealogical information of his side of the family as well as that of his wife’s (Gage). There are many pieces reflecting Baum’s publishing history, including photos, correspondences and memorabilia, as well as other pieces pertaining to The Wizard of Oz, William W. Denslow, and Russell P. MacFall. The full inventory list is available on the website along with other pertinent information pertaining to the collection, such as how to access it.

The David J. Williams III L. Frank Baum Collection
  • Considered one of the top academic research collections of Baum’s work in the United States, Kansas State University’s Morse Department of Special Collections houses over 600 volumes of Baum and Baum-related work. Some of the pieces amassed by private collector David J. Williams III of Richmond, Kentucky throughout his lifetime include signed materials by Baum as well as books from Baum’s own private library collection. For interested individuals in the collection, it is recommended that they contact the Special Collections Librarian and Rare Books specialist, Roger Adams, at rcadams@ksu.edu.

  • In Yale’s L. Frank Baum Collection. Yale Collection of American Literature, Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library The L. Frank Baum Collection contains two boxes and within those boxes twenty-nine folders pertaining to material spanning from 1883 – 1982. The material includes different pieces of ephemera, advertisements, programs, reviews, news articles, carbon and photocopies of books, materials on production and publishing as well as missives (business, personal) and materials related to the International Wizard of Oz Club.

Oz Collection
  • The University of Minnesota Libraries have several research level children’s literature collections. One of those collections is the Oz Collection. Amassed by Laura Jane Musser, it contains: various forms of memorabilia pertaining to the International Wizard of Oz Club, newspaper clippings, sheet music from The Wizard of Oz, the Ozmapolitan and other similar magazines, letters from Jay Delkin and Bill Eubank, as well as other print materials and a partial The Wizard of Oz china plate series by James Aukland.
